Advantages: USED to be good, homegrown, well acted, 5 nights a week

Disadvantages: gone rubbish now the cast was killed off

where Family Affairs was the best soap on our box in my opinion. This was in the original days of FA when the original cast was there based around the Hart family, but since that prat Brian Park who tried to cockup Corrie by killing everyone off, worked his normal magic and wiped out the entire Hart family, it has gone to not really being watchable in my opinion.
5 really did have a very respectable soap at the time of the original cast. However since they were killed off its not really worth watching in my opinion. Its lost the thing that it had. There really was no need to kill off so many people it was a ridiculous move. When 5 was launched Family Affairs was pulling in around 1 million viewers, respectable for a new homegrown soap. Up to the time when the characters were killed off it had risen to nearly 2 million an episode. Since the kill off its now getting around 1.4 million viewers so not such a good move by Park the prat.
Oh well theres nothing that can be done about it now but had the original cast still been around......who knows
