I have been watching this program for a few years now (almost since it started), but even I could not have envisaged how stupid the plotlines could become. I always enjoyed watching this program because it seemed to take itself a lot less seriously than the likes of Eastenders, however this has gone to far to the other extreme. For those ... I don't know why or when I started watching Family Affais but I have been watching it since the early days of the Hart Family. This soap is the only thing worth watching on Channel 5 (apart from the occasional football match). It's never been quite as good since they decided to get rid of the whole of the Hart Family by ... Family Affairs has been running for some time now on Channel 5, and, although it has its following, I didn't find it that easy to get into when I started watching it the other week. The storylines appear to be not going anywhere, and seem to be dragging on already, and I have only tuned in for a few episodes. There are two characters called ... Read the complete review

God! Where to start I do watch this show each week and man it is crazy!!! There's drugs, crime, sex and much more madness. The families are so crazy sometimes i have to wonder "can this all really happen" but you get addicted to the show. Ok let me tell you what i mean, there's this family called the Warrington’s. ... The problem with soap operas is that all the storylines revolve around the same people, so that you are inevitably going to get some "Family Affairs". It seems to me that this show does it particularly well, and often. I must admit, I'm a fairly recent convert, so didn't see the original cast. We do seem to have some ... Read the complete review

Family Affairs was the very first programme that was broadcast on the new Channel 5 back in March 1997, and set in the fictional town of Charnham. The soap mostly revolved around the life of the Hart family (Hart to Hart?) and their friends and relatives. To be fair, the soap was quite enjoyable and was a refreshing alternative to the ... Family Affairs is certainly one of the best soaps on the TV. It is just a pity that they do not have the same cult status as Eastenders, or Coronation street. The actors are just as professional, and the storylines are just as good. They even feature 2 former actors from Eastenders. I was upset at first to see the Hart ... Read the complete review

I have become quite addicted to Family Affairs over the past year and find that I don't really mind missing out on the other soaps, but if I miss this one I'm not impressed. This is about the only thing I watch on channel 5, and I must say I think it is underestimated by many who haven't seen it - it really is an excellent show. You've got ... Read the complete review

Family Affairs does not set the world alight. Well, not the viewing world anyway. If you?re a character in it, then you might well be set alight. Drifting along in the original Channel 5 schedule the soap was spiced up. It became your average soap but a lot nastier. In other words more characters were bumped off, most notably just about ... where Family Affairs was the best soap on our box in my opinion. This was in the original days of FA when the original cast was there based around the Hart family, but since that prat Brian Park who tried to cockup Corrie by killing everyone off, worked his normal magic and wiped out the entire Hart family, it has gone to not really being ... As I had never watched a soap before! I just never found them interesting or entertaining..then came Family Affairs. Watch the Omnibus on a Sunday afternoon for a good chance of seeing all the characters and starting to get a grip on background stories etc. It's set in the fictional London suburb of Charnam, and orginally ... I'm not sure how I got hooked on this soap. Everyday we hear people slagging off Channel 5 for all the tacky T.V. it comes up with. Some of us like tacky... Anyway to the point this soap is not tacky and has improved greatly from it's early days. It's set in a town in London called Charnham, it has a wide mix of ... Read the complete review

Family Affairs is just as good as any other soap. In my opinion you cant compare soaps in the first place as they have the same ingredients and in all the soaps you get actors that cant act. So Family Affairs is a soap like any other. However it deals with alot of issues and at the moment has a very interesting plot involving the murder of Josh ... Read the complete review

Every channel has to have at least one soap in the evening, and Family Affairs is Channel 5's offering. It's gone through a lot changes to try and boost ratings, and a lot of the original characters left or were killed off. The soap is set in Charnham in London. Its bad guy is Pete Callan, the owner of the local pub "The ... Read the complete review

Channel five soap centered around Charnham. This soap like many others started of quite slow but is now becoming one of the best soaps on british tv. Like all other soaps it as its basic characters, including the villian Pete Callan, who in my opinion is far scarir than Steve Owen. They are now begining to tackle topical issues ... It's obvious that Family Affairs won't be getting much more at the Soap Awards next year. This could be because the show can't be taken seriously whatsoever as there is abosolutely no realism created and the actors are about as good as a group of untrained chimps. Give me a P.G. Thankyou channel 5 for family affairs,I love it and try not to miss an episode! Family Affairs wasn't worth piloting let alone being aired for so many years. The acting is terrible. The storylines and plot are worse and to top it all off the truth be known, even channel five wouldn't have chosen or approved of it if it were not the only one on the list - yes, they are all that popular at channel five. ... Family Affairs used to be entertaining and then they killed the Hart family in the most unrealistic storyline ever known on a British soap, that is until they decide to bring them all back from the dead! I watched it from the beginning until this happened and I am sad to say that for me it never regained the pace and interest it once held. ... Read the complete review

I am avid fan of Family Affairs and watch it all the time. When comparing it to some of the other soap operas I find it beats Eastenders and Brookside hands down. Although it has both topical and controversial storylines,it manages to keep a sense of reality and is not too depressing (unlike Eastenders) and not too far fetched (unlike ...
