A good animated comedy (Family Guy)

Family Guy is an animated comedy which is centred on the Griffin family. The family consists of the father Peter, mother Lois, teenage children Chris and Meg, infant Stewie and the dog Brian. Other frequently appearing characters include the Griffins' neighbours such as Glen Quagmire. The humour is similar to that of The Simpsons but more adult in nature and is frequently quite surreal with many references to popular culture. A lot of the storylines are also quite adult with Stewie plotting to murder his mother in the earlier series and Brian's inappropriate attraction to Lois also features often as does Quagmire's penchant for barely legal girls and pretty much anything with a pulse. I find Family Guy really funny but it can tend towards gross-out comedy at times which can get a little puerile but on the whole I would recommend it to anyone who likes their comedy a little dark and slightly troubling at times!
