Advantages: ....lots of interesting aliens

Disadvantages: ...that US tendency to moralise at every given opportunity

My first thought was 'Oh no!' - just one more crack at the winning formula - another American hero trying to get home - a sort of Quantum Leap in space. So, my expectations weren't high.

But I'm pleased to say I've changed my opinion. Over the weeks the series has really grown on me. It's really quite unique. For the first time, only one of the main characters is human. There's an interesting range of sexy aliens - all with their own, well developed cultural backgrounds, a living symbiotic space ship and some top baddies. What more can you ask?

Well - there's the storylines. In common with Star Trek, the device of having the main cast moving around the galaxy opens up unlimited plot options.

The central group of characters are becoming more and more three-dimensional as their characters develop and inter-relationships evolve.

I like it. I love Star Trek, (my favourite's TNG, if you're interested), but I'm more than happy with Farscape.
