First WaveNewest Review: ... so much on special effects which does make a nice change. Will Cade and the others manage to stop the First Wave of aliens from getting their act together enough to start the Second Wave (in which Nostradamus predicts 19,000,000 humans will die). Well I for one certainly hope so. If ever we come to a point where this story line comes true we are going to need a lot like him to get through it. Hopefully it’ll never happen!!! Sorry if this is a bit long but I wanted to be sure if you wanted to tune in you would know the story so far. ... more |

First Wave is a classic alien invasion programme now in it’s third series on Sci Fi on Monday nights at 9pm. It tells the story of Cade Foster (Sebastian Spence) and his fight to save the world from (an ever-increasing number of) aliens intent on taking over our planet in “3 terrifying waves”. The aliens are called the Gua and are very strong and so capable of hiding their dealings with humans so that although they’ve been here for over 50 years practically no one on Earth knows about them. They take over human being’s lives after killing them or create human husks to inhabit. They like to take on positions of power (which makes ... Read the complete review

This show takes its cue from a prophecy from 16th Century seer Nostradamus, who said that the world would be destroyed in three waves of attack - infiltration, invasion from above, and armageddon. He also said that this devastation could be prevented by a 'twice-blessed man'. This 'twice-blessed man' is Cade Foster, who had previously been a thief, but had carefully re-arranged his life and become a security guard. Foster is framed for the murder of his wife, loses his job, his credit rating - everything in his life goes to pot. Foster becomes hellbent on revenge for the things he knows, for he knows that the aliens are here and are ... Read the complete review

That's the premise of this TV series. Cade Foster is the only man who can sop this alien invasion, as he is one of the 100 plus types of human that the aliens have identified, but they can't break his mind... and of course there's 6 billion humans on the planet, so they really need to get it sorted out, otherwise they'll be fighting a rebelling force of the order of 60 million, pretty large odds! Of course, Cade doesn't want this to happen, and manage to find out that Nostradamus' predictions, made some 400 years beforehand, are uncannily useful for telling him what the aliens ae upto! So he travels across the country trying to foil their ... Read the complete review

Can you imagine what it would be like if aliens were planning to take over the world and were already here, disguised as humans and carrying out experiments? Well, this is the scenario for the brilliant sci-fi programme First Wave. As with many current American sci-fi shows, the basic storyline and theme is described in the opening titles which goes something like: "In 1564 Nostradamus predicted the destruction of Earth in three terrifying waves - the first wave is here" (or words to that effect). Sebastian Spence stars as Cade Foster, in a series in which Francis Ford Coppola is the executive producer. The Gua are aliens from another ... Read the complete review
