Football focus is nothing short of an outstanding football program, yet is more light and heavy going than Match of the Day, similar to Match of the Day 2. Airing on a Saturday Morning, it reviews the matches from the week before as well as upcoming matches of the weekend primarily, although it also runs special features such as the plummet by Charlton Athletic and Englands 2018 World Cup Bid. Football Focus is a football analysis and preview show broadcast on the BBC on Saturday at lunchtime (around 12). It is currently hosted by Manish Bhasin with previous hosts including Ray Stubbs and Gary Linekar. Football pundits such as Mark Lawrenson, Lee Dixon, Ivan Gaskell, and Martin Keown also take part in the show on a regular basis. If you can't stand the 'high octane', never ending build up that Sky Sports offer to every football match, be it the Champions League Final or Grimsby Reserves v Swansea reserves, and you prefer a more gentle review of the premier league matches that are happening that weekend - definately choose football focus. I can be a quirky little soul sometimes, but then again cant we all? But one of my little quirks which is legally possible to write about on a family website is my love of Football Focus. 12.15 every Saturday on BBC 1 it is the official start to my saturday. Once I relinquised SKY, due to my inability to go to bed at any time other than crazy o'clock, the programme that i missed most has been Soccer AM, a brilliantly funny Saturday morning football orientated show.
