Advantages: Great idea for a tv show,

Disadvantages: Probably more for women

I recently got married on 5th September, after being together for 10 years and having 2 kids we thought it was about time.

We don't have much money but managed to do our whole wedding for a bargain of £1800. I still managed to wear a big white wedding dress, My groom had a lovely hired suit, Classic car, Food and Party.There were a few things we didn't bother with and looking back now I am glad I didn't spend a huge amount on my wedding, as it would simply be spending money we didn't have.

Anyway this programme started to broadcast as I was planning my wedding so of course I was bound to take a really big interest in it, I love shows like this anyway.

***The format of the show***

Have you ever watched "Come Dine with me?" If you have then its along the same format of that, There are 4 Brides and they are each judged on there wedding such as the dress they wear, to the food and the location, and right down to the Overall score. (Each bride votes them after the wedding in private)

At the beginning they tell you a little about all of the contestants, how much there budget is and the theme of there wedding.

The idea is to get the most points from all the other brides, and then you are crowned the winner winning a luxury honeymoon for you and your husband.

Most of the weddings all look the same, Ceremony, Formal Meal and then disco but there was one wedding that really stuck out for me and that was where a couple got married in a Cave. It looked so romantic except they had to wear those hard hats so wouldn't be my cup of tea but it was unique. I don't think they won though.

There is a lot of bitching from the brides about being bored, the food and general slating of the wedding; I think you would have to be very brave to want to go on this show, even with the prospect of winning a luxury honeymoon!

I do really like the concept of the show though and enjoy watching other peoples weddings but so many people go over the top with the price, I mean it's great if you can afford it but we didn't want to get into debt for our wedding.

The show is shown on a Monday on Channel 4 and lasts for around an hour!

I recommend you watch it if you like your reality TV shows and are getting married!
