Advantages: Great mix of characters, very funny
Disadvantages: No real plot to it all
The show focuses on the snobbish life of Frasier; we sometimes see his son Fredrick who he adores and also his work life in the radio studio. You can't help but like him, though he shows himself as upper class, he just wants what's best in life for him and his family. Daphne adds the quirky value to the show and Martin adds normality to it. Martin just wants to drink some beer and watch some TV, he often worries his sons are too feminine but realises they take after their late mother. I think this show is great and although it may be hard to get into, stick with it, it's worth it. The sense of humour used isn't as obvious as some shows but it's hilarious once you understand.
FRASIER CRANE
Played by Kelsey Grammer. After divorcing from wife Lilith, Frasier moved to Seattle from Boston to create a new life. He soon became part of KACL talk radio where he helps people with their problems. He has a brother, Niles who he often bickers with but they share many interests. His father, Martin, who was shot on patrol as a cop, is struggling with his hip and so Niles suggests he move in with Frasier. Although, it hasn't been the smoothest ride between the both of them, considering their clash of interests and the fact Martin's dog gets fur all over Frasier's expensive furniture, they manage to form a relationship they've never had before.
NILES CRANE
Played by David Hyde-Pearce. Nile's is a bit of a neat freak, in one of our first meeting's of Niles in the Coffeehouse we see him wiping down a chair before sitting on it. He's a very precise man, who is well-spoken and in earlier season's is married to a woman called Maris. Maris is a peculiar character who we never actually see but we often hear Nile's telling Frasier that she had another 'episode'. When meeting Daphne, his dad's healthcare worker, he gains a secret crush on her, even whilst marrying Maris. When divorced from Maris he tries to pursue Daphne, it's a bumpy road but they eventually get together and get married. Both he and Frasier could be considered snobs but they're so likeable you sort of see past that.
MARTIN CRANE
Played by John Mahoney. Martin is the father of Frasier and Niles. After being shot whilst on duty as a cop, he struggles to walk and has a cane. Now retired and after many falls, Frasier let his dad move in with him. But not just him, his blessed dog Eddy came and of course his recliner to which he can never part with. Martin often clashes with Frasier because he likes beer and sports whilst Frasier likes champagne and the opera. At first the bond between Martin and Frasier is completely broken and they don't get on at all but as the seasons go on they become much closer along with Niles.
DAPHNE MOON
Played by Jane Leeves. Daphne is employed to look after Martin after his shooting. Frasier is reluctant to hire Daphne as she is slightly kooky and claims to be physic and so, it is Martin who steps in and hires her. She is originally from Manchester, England and quickly becomes Niles' love interest. Daphne never cottons on to Niles' feelings towards her which is funny due to the fact everyone else knows and we as the audience know.
ROZ DOYLE
Played by Peri Gilpin. Roz is the producer to Frasier's radio show, as the seasons go on it's clear that that Crane's see Roz as family. She's a flirt and is always going on dates. She never seems to be able to find Mr. Right and at one point even sleeps with Frasier. Roz soon has to grow out of her fun loving life when she falls pregnant with a younger man's baby with the father not being involved, Roz raises Alice alone.
SEASON 1
Martin moves in with Frasier and the two try and work out a way to live in the same apartment. Niles develops a crush on Daphne. Frasier acquires a pushy agent called Bebe. The two brothers try and write a book together.
SEASON 2
Frasier and Niles take an interest in politics. The quibbling between Frasier and Martin isn't as intense. Also, Frasier and Niles open a restaurant. Frasier comments on how rainy Seattle is on his radio show which doesn't rub off well on the listeners of Seattle.
SEASON 3
A lot of the focus this season is on Niles and Maris as Niles' feelings for Daphne develop further. The Crane family try to overcome their difficulties with one another. Diane, Frasier's ex-lover, makes an appearance as she's created a play that is showing in Seattle, the play is based on Cheers.
SEASON 4
Niles is now separated from Maris. Since both brothers are single they go out to meet women but Niles finds it hard to detach himself from his wife and the fact he still has feelings for Daphne. Frasier teases Roz about her dating habits whilst he feels secretly jealous as he feels lonely.
SEASON 5
Roz gets a shock when she finds out she's pregnant. Niles and Maris' divorce is complete. Frasier reaches his 1000th show. Frasier's love life doesn't improve even when he meets his perfect woman. The people at KACL face some tough negotiations.
SEASON 6
In a funny Christmas episode, Frasier pretends to be Jewish for the sake of his new girlfriend in attempt for her mother to like him.
SEASON 7
Maris' former plastic surgeon is Niles' latest love interest. Frasier and agent Bebe host a morning chat show together. Daphne and Niles finally get together even though Daphne is engaged to Donny.
SEASON 8
Frasier questions whether or not he knows how to be happy and even asks his ex-wife Lilith what she thinks. Frasier thinks he and his son are growing apart. Martin attends a hearing over the man who shot him. Niles and Frasier enter a vehicle repair class and soon become the rebels of the class as they have a glimpse of what it's like not to be the intellectuals of the class.
SEASON 9
The season starts by Frasier exploring his life and why he feels unhappy, he does this with help of seeing Lilith, Diane, a hippy (who Frasier once dated) and his own mother in his subconscious. Frasier forms a nemesis in the form of neighbour Cam Winston.
SEASON 10
Niles has open-heart surgery which comes as a shock to everyone. Daphne's impossible mother makes several appearances throughout the season. Frasier objects to paying a $2 parking fee after simply turning his car around. Sadly, the final season.
Each show lasts around 30 minutes and can be found on Channel 4 and Paramount Comedy, this show's a ten! This is me... wishing you good mental health.
