Friends really is a classic American comedy show that I never grew out of, it provides great family viewing and there are hours and hours of viewing in the 236 episodes that last almost an hour. There are 10 seasons in total watching 6 friends growing up together in New York facing their problems and sharing their sucesses, it is a really non offensive great comedy show.

The main characters in friends are:

Jennifer Aniston- As Rachel, the high maintainence spoilt friend who was always popular at school, well known for her rocky and interesting relationship with character Ross in the show. Rachel grows and changes into a less spoilt and more independant person during the first few seasons in Friends.

Courteney Cox Arquette- As Monica, the clean and tidy freak, who eventually ends up marrying Chandler in the last few seasons. Monica is also sister of Ross and a very competitive character.

Lisa Kudrow- As Phoebe, the weird and hippy like friend, who grew up on the streets after her mother committed suicide, so she is a real surviver type character, Phoebe also has a twin who she doesnt like to talk to. Despite her weird tendancies and background Phoebe works hard to ensure that she has as normal life as possible.

Matt LeBlanc- As Joey, the ladies man, famous for the saying 'How you doin?' as his main chat up line. Joey loves his food and eats the strangest concoctions some times, he isnt really the brightest character and is a striving actor who gets the strangest parts sometimes including soap operas.

Matthew Perry- As Chandler, the sarcastic, funny one, who doesnt really have much luck with the ladies, however eventually in the last few seasons him and character Monica end up together and become a quite funny to watch duo.

David Schwimmer- As Ross, the smart nerdy geek one, charater Monicas brother and from time to time Rachels boyfriend and also father of Rachels baby Emma. Ross is a really funny and particular character and is a paleontologist, which is some one who works with dinosaur bones and takes over interest in his work to the bore of the other characters.

The characters within the show all work so well together and each one brings a new factor to the show making the comedy more relatable and the show in total more watchable.

Friends runs for 10 series of great tv viewing, there are great story lines within the seasons and some great extra guests as well including Julia Roberts and Bruce Willis.

I definantly recommend this tv show for a watch for all the family as it is great comedy that is light hearted and non offensive.
