Advantages: Great Amercian comedy

Disadvantages: Repeated too much too soon

  Friends is an American comedy programme which can frequently be seen on Channel 4 and its sister channel E4. It is also available on DVD in 4 episode discs, whole seasons or the complete series. Due to the way it is written it can be viewed as a one off episode alone and still be enjoyed rather than having to watch each episode in turn. 

The idea of friends is following the lives of 6 people who have become friends. In fact the first few episodes shows how Rachel meets up with her school friend Monica, Monica's brother - Ross, & his best friend - Chandler. Through Chandler we meet his flat mate Joey. Through Monica we meet her friend Phoebe. By the end of the first season the viewer feels those individuals know each other so well they have always been a group.  Each character seems to add something unique to the group. Monica is the bossy one who likes everything done just so. Joey is the one who isn't blessed with too many brain cells but you just can't help but like. Ross likes to think he is brainy one who went to university and has good jobs but tends to make wrong decisions and is unlucky in love. Phoebe is the hippy of the group and believes strongly in her principles. Rachel seems to be classed as the beautiful one who seems to go out with the most guys in the series and has constant references to her looks, even working for a famous designer, Ralph Lauren, in the series. Last but by no means least is Chandler who seems to work hard for what he gets and is a true comedian who gets quite a lot of the one liners.  

In summary friends is great tv but because its been repeated so many times over the years it has been spoilt. 

Summary: Great tv especially if left a few months before seeing it again
