Advantages: Great to chill out with

Disadvantages: My video buying is breaking the bank

I have to admit a crushing addiction - to Friends videos. I have bought four out of the seven series' so far and now I feel is time to examine exactly why this light-hearted American sitcom is so addictive. The chemistry between the six central characters is beyond sexual to begin with - is it so much more than that. I think it's the way that they all interact and bounce comments off each other. But it's also how they have elements in them that we all recognise in ourselves - for example, Chandler's compulsive humour used as a defence mechanism and Ross's and Monica's sibling relationship. We all find ourselves doing similar things and so empathise with them. And that is why we all enjoy it so much - it reminds that we all are, after all, only human and are prone to basic insecurity and bad habits and hey, that's okay. I love this series and I don't think, as many people have said, that's it's gone a bit stale. I say, keep on going until you're all married, you fantastic Friends.
