Over the last few years Friends has surely been one of the best TV shows around, it's highly entertaining and really great to watch. The TV comedy has now been around for a grand total of 7yrs and in that time 7 series have been made and shown on national television, the famous cast are now in the middle of recording series 8 which many people including myself are looking forward to!

For anyone that hasn't seen this TV show, where have you been for the last few years!!?? I can understand people who don't like the show but people who love a good laugh and giggle, this is a show for you!

The show is basically about 6 friends, hence the title of the program! These friends consist of 3 male and 3 female mates. All of which are hilariously funny and what make the show so successful. Each episode is about what happens to these people during a particular day, or days.

Here is a short description of the 6 main Friends that make the show:

Firstly we have Monica Geller, the bossy and controlling one, she works as a chef and loves her job to bits. Monica is a tidy freak, everything has to be to perfection, this is what makes Monicas character so funny, since all the other Friends take the mickey out of her for it! Monica is quite stupid at times and highly funny, she is played by Courtney Cox-Arquette.

Monica thought she had found true love with her older boyfriend, the friend of Monica and brother Ross' parents, Richard, in earlier series' but now she seems settled with Chandler, another Friend. They have been together quite a while now and have had many hopeless attempts towards their commitment for each other, firstly Chandler prosposed to Monica without even knowing if he was in lover with her or not and secondly they tried to get married in Vegas but due to another couple of Friends spoiling the moment, this was not completed. I think the couple have infact got married now and Monica is expecting, I'm no
t sure if they did tie the knot though since the last episode I saw she did a runner due to finding out she was pregnant on her wedding day! (If anyone knows for a fact what happened, I'd be grateful if they'd let me know! Thanks! ) Another friend Ross, is Monicas sister.

Onto big brother Ross, named Ross Gellar, he lives a wild life and seems very different to little sis Monica. Ross works as a Palaeontologist, who up until a recent series worked at the local museum but Ross now finds himself as a professor at the local university after being sacked due to his anger and rage problems at work! Ross is deeply into his work and usually starts talking about rocks etc on many occasions, this is funny since the other Friends usually fall asleep! ~ Then he stops! He seems a smart guy but deep down is very dumm, silly and shy! Ross is played by David Schwimmer.

Through all 7 series we have seen Ross get married and divorced 3 times! Ross' first wife turned out to be a lesbian! But they still see each other and get on well since they have a child together named Ben. Then came the second wife who left Ross after her fiancee said the wrong name at the alter! They got married however then she left! (How typical!) For the information, Ross said Rachel's name at the alter, another Friend, the one Ross loves! The third wife was infact Rachel herself, this was a drunken mistake and after much thought they got their marriage annuled.

Onto Rachel herself, Rachel Green joined the group after leaving her fiancee Barry at their wedding. She moved to New York to have a fresh start, when younger (in her teeange years) Rachel was the best friend of Friend Monica, in the first series they re-unite and Rachel becomes a Friend. Rachel adores shopping and is very funny to watch! Her silly but smart comments and Rachel is played by Jennifer Aniston-Pitt.

Rachel spent many series being the lover of Ross, Rachel and Ross broke up but Ross sti
ll had and still has feelings towards her. On a trip to Vegas they both got drunk together and ended up in the Little White Chapel getting married! That meant Rachel was Ross' third wife! After many arguments and discussions the marriage was annuled.

Joey Tribbiani is another member of the Friends squad! Joey is SO funny its stupid! Joey is the dumm male of the group. He is a struggling actor who lives in the apartment oppisite the girls. Joey is really sweet and funny. Joey is played by Matt-Le-Blanc.

Joeys love life hasn't really been that interesting, he goes on dates and meets many girls but hasn't really ever had a serious relationship with any fellow Friend. One of his main relationships was with well-known Janice, the cackling and annoying Janice who appears regularly on the show.

Phoebe Buffet is the female version of Joey, the so ridiculously stupid individual, this is what makes her character so hilariously funny! I also think this is why Joey and Pheobs get on so well, because they're both mad and stupid! Pheobe is a masseuse but also likes to think of herself as a musician too! ~ She plays her guitar and creates her own lyrics and performs in the groups hang out place, the coffee house called Central Park. Her music is so ridiculously bad and stupid, it makes it so funny! Pheobe came from the streets, her Mum commit suicide and she never knew her Dad. Pheobe was mostly brought up by her Grandmother and her adoptive Mum, she also has a twin sister called Ursula but Pheobe doesen't speak to her much. Pheobe is played by Lisa Kudrow.

Pheobe hasn't got much of a love life but has had many flings and short and sweet romances. I remember when she dated the hot policeman with the badge and the hunky fireman who she 2 timed! I really think that Pheobe and Joey should get together in the next series. They pair up really nicely but I doubt they will get put together.

Last but not least is Chandl
er, Mr Bing in my opinion is definitely the funniest of the 6. With Chandlers jokes and wise cracks, how can anybody dislike him!? Chandler is the traditional office man who works a 9 to 5 job. Chandler cannot stand his job, he was brought up in a posh family and his parents split when he was younger. He used to go to college with Ross and the pair are best friends. Chandler is played by Matthew Perry.

Chandler has had many relationships but in the last few series we have seen him and Monica get it together and I think the 2 are married now. They make a great couple and work well together. Chandler is pretty scared and nervous when it conmes to relationships so he uses sarcasm to cover it all up which is usually pretty funny!

So thats the gang that make up Friends. All are great actors, though most of them are getting on now, Jennifer Aniston (Rachel) married hunky Brad Pit last year, Courtney Cox (Monica) married David Arquette from Scream and Matthew Perry is as far as I know in rehab for a drug and alcohol addiction.

All the actors/actresses have also starred in many films, you may know them from the films. I know that Matthew Perry starred in Three To Tango, Courtney Cox starred in the Screams, Jennifer Aniston starred in a flik to but I can't remember the name to it. (SORRY!) Lisa Kudrow also starred in Romy and Michelles High School Reunion and if you've been to see Dr Dolittle2 you will notice that the female bear is voiced by herself.

The group all hang out at what was originally just Monica's apartment but is now known as the girls apartment. (I think Chandler lives there too now!) You will also find the gang at the local coffee house at Central Perk beneath their apartments.

Friends is a truly great comedy, it was originally a Channel 4 show and channel 4 show the latest series of the cast weekly on Fridays at around 9pm. The channel also shows previous episodes, mainly repeats at other times durin
g the week, usually around 6pm.

You can see the real LATEST episodes and series on sky though, Sky 1 and NEW channel E4 show the latest editions to Friends. You will almost find at least 1 episode of Friends on daily on sky and digital! You can also buy all 7 series on video and some on DVD too! These provide hours of entertainment, however many times you watch them!

I also recommed a new show called Will and Grace on Channel 4 which is created by the shows same producers, if you like Friends, than I'm sure you'll like this too!
