Advantages: silly humour

Disadvantages: a bit adult at times

Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are a classic double-act, they have been together, it seems forever, but since have appeared on TV since the 80's.

Most of the time, their sense of humour is very dry, but it is very, very funny!

They have had a few hit series in their time:

- A bit of Fry and Laurie is the most memorable. They centre their show around a "chat show" basis at the beginning, it is difficult to explain, but once you see it, it will make sense!

At the end of each show, Hugh laurie plays on the piano, whilst Stephen Fry mixes an original cocktail - and (instead of saying 'Cheers') finish by saying "soupy-twist"

Fry And Laurie are still about, but unfortuantly they do not seem to do much together comedy-wise anymore, which is a real shame, because they have so much dry wit that is a rare thing nowdays

Hugh Laurie is appearing in more and more films, (Maybe Baby) and Stephen Fry writes novels now, (The Star's Tennis Balls) but I hope they come back!

It does get shown at 11pm on Paramount - but sadly no longer on BBC. Their humour is similar to Smith and Jones, but has an extra kick to it.

Hugh Laurie usually plays the 'a bit dumb' bloke and Stephen Fry plays the 'all knowing' bloke, and it works so well.

The show is a sketch show, and apart from the odd sketches of mock interviews (with either hugh or stephen), - as being the average man/woman on the street (watch out for the women - v.funny) - there is no one solid character to the show.

It is suited to both adults and adolescents, not children though, because although there is no swearing (or if there is, it is mild), the genre of the humour can be a bit hard to explain to some!

I love this prog since I read Moab is My Washpot (Stephen Fry's autobiography) (well, before I read it too really, but more so now). Mr Dalliard, I've gone all queer now...
