Fun House

Newest Review: ... Generally there would be a girls game, one of the boys & a mixed one. The Fun House pool which became the foam pit in latter series would form the backdrop for one of these games. One of these would also be a "Key Game" where the runners up would also get a small number of points. In between each of these rounds, there would be bonus questions in order to gain extra points. After this it was time for what most people remember as the stand out from the show, the fun cart grand prix! The contestants would race against each other on the racetrack taking it iin turns over 4 laps. Points would be awarded for the team to finish fi... more

Fun House was one of my favourite shows growing up as a kid. It was broadcast on ITV & was hosted by Pat Sharp and also featured the twins Melanie & Martina Grant. There would be two teams of contestants each team generally featuring a girl & a boy. The teams would take place in 3 rounds of messy games against one another for points. Fun House was a UK game show (based on an American show of the same name) that ran from February 1989 to December 1999 on CITV. It was hosted by Pat Sharp and the twins, Melanie and Martina Grant Gary King was the announcer. I used to watch this show with my daughter when she came home from school; we both loved it and it was her dream to be on it. It is currently being repeated on Challenge TV, but unfortunately we don't have Sky/Cable. Fun House involves two teams, Red and Yellow, both made up of a school aged boy and girl. Their aim is to win the most points after rounds one and two, and therefore getting to go into the actual Fun House, where ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fun House: Uh Oh! Pat Sharp Alert (342 words)

Pat Sharp. Deejay, tv presenter and popstar. Fun House was always a treat to watch, the level of excitement on this show could only be measured by a very large yard stick! What is it about? Basically, it's a show for children, set inside Pat Sharp's Fun House. The house is akin to a massive obstacle course. Think big nets, poles to slide down, revolving barrels to crawl through and you're on the right track. The show has a couple of teams, comprising two children on each team. They first have to complete some challenges, before the winning team gets to go into the Fun House. It is in here that they look for prizes by collecting ...  Read the complete review

When I was a child, growing up in the early 1990s, Fun House was always one of the kids TV programmes that I always looked forward to. It used to be on CITV on Friday afternoons and was presented by Pat Sharp, along with two twins called Melanie and Martina. The idea of the programme was that there were two teams, with two children in each (usually a boy and girl I seem to remember). Both teams had to compete in three rounds of games, usually involving lots of gunge and requiring lots of running around. The children also had to answer questions to be awarded with extra points. At the end of the three rounds, a fun kart Grand Prix used to be ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fun House, whole lotta fun, prizes to be won! (302 words)

Fun House was a highly entertaining game show for kids which showed on ITV in the afternoons after school. I remember it from when I was a kid, and it was made in that era when game shows using gunge as a penalty was all the rage. Fun House was presented by Pat Sharp, he of the ridiculously large mullet, and he introduced the show and the games. The Fun House was a big adventure play pit, like you may find at the fair or in a kids' play centre these days, with moving floors, mirrors, ball pits, and foam padded everything (safety, of course!) Pat was aided by two twin women, Melanie and Martina Grant, as assistants who would each take a team and be their ...  Read the complete review
