McBeer The Weakest Link: ... weakest link is yet another quiz show on television these days, but with a more unique layout. The show has been on air since 14th August 2000 and seems to still be going as well as it started. In fact there are now dozens of shows in countries all over the world. The quiz show starts off with nine contestants who are position at their own desk in a semi-circle area with Ann Robinson, the quiz host, in the centr...

Burning_Darkness 100 Percent
... hate flashy, pointless gameshows like The Weakest Link that feel the need to jazz up their general knowledge quiz format with silly tactical elements, flashing lights, dramatic music, faux rudeness and the like. Instead I long for the return of 100 percent, a gameshow that ran between 1999 and 2001 and did away with all the vulgar nonsense and instead just concentrated on a simple and engaging question-and-answer format without any stupid distractions. The format of the show is incredibly simple: three contestants must answer a hundred questions, some set within one particular field, others based on general knowledge, choosing the correct answer from one of three cho...

TravellerJen Deal or No Deal
... Or No Deal is a very simple box and number game, hosted by Noel Edmonds and is shown primarily on channel 4. In this game, 22 contestants along with 22 boxes come together to try and beat the banker, which makes an interesting game show (most of the time). At the beginning of the show the contestants each pick a box (unknown to what is inside the box) and take their place on the east wing and west wing , 11 contestants on each side. Each red box has its own set denomination of money: 1p, 10p, 50p, £1, £5, £10, £50, £100, £250, £500, £750, £1,000, £3,000, £5,000, £10,000, £15,000, £20,000, £35,000, £50,000, £75,000, £100,000, £250,000 At the beginning of the game...

TravellerJen Countdown
... have always been a fan of Countdown, but now of late I can not watch it! Countdown is mostly a word and a little of a number game, whereby contestants have to find words out of a certain number of given letters. The number game consists of making up the number with the given numbers. At the end of the show is always the conundrum, whereby the contestants are given a 9 letter word and must find the anagram for it. Each game had a 30 second time limit, which was shown on the big clock. Im sure everybody recognises the tune if they heard it. Countdown was the first ever show to be aired on channel 4 and should not be dragged down as such by the current presenters. Sir ...
