Robot Wars ... Wars was a classic TV show at the height of its fame, and although it doesn t air anymore, it still remains in the collective cultural consciousness, and managed to generate frequently high numbers for the Beeb until it folded in 2003. The concept is very simple; various teams of super geeks build robots, and then pit them against one another in epic battles, with the winner them qualifying on to a Grand Final at the end of the series. The arena had various obstacles such as fire, spikes, and moving platforms, meaning that those controlling the robot had to be very careful. Also, there are House Bots that run rampant around the arena, such as Sr. Kill A Lot, Matild... Read the full review: Great TV show by shaneo632 |

Mock The Week ... the Week is a great quiz show that is hosted by Dara Ó Briain, and, as the title states, takes the P out of the week in news and general events. There are four regular pannelists, with two on each team: the mainstays are My Hero star Hugh Dennis and comedian Frankie Boyle on one team, and Andy Parsons and Russell Howard on the other. They have a quasi-visible competition that isn t so much about scores or correct answers but just how damn hilarious they can be. The show was designed by the makers of Whose Line Is It Anyway, and that becomes clear the second that the games start. The most famous one is called "Spinning the news", where a spinner randomly pi... Read the full review: Hilarious quiz show... by shaneo632 |

The Weakest Link ... weakest link is a BBC gameshow hosted by Anne Robinson. A number of contestants are asked questions in series with each other. Money is awarded for each correct answer, with increasing amounts for a chain of correct ones. An incorrect answer will break the chain and lose any money which has not been banked by the contestant. A time limit is applicable, and this decreases every round. After each round one contestant is elminated until only two remain, who go head to head with each other in order to win what has been accumulated during the game. This show is mightily entertaining. It s as innovative as Who wants to be a millionnaire, and is probably it s biggest ri... Read the full review: You are the weakest link....goodbye by Gaven |
