Gardener's World airs, as it has done for time immemorial (unless there's international athletics or something else on) on BBC2 on a Friday night at 8.30pm. It's a TV programme about, as the name suggests, the 'world' of gardening. The show is fronted by a team of 4-5 presenters, and has made the careers of a number of 'celebrity gardeners' over the years - Alan Titchmarsh, Charlie Dimmock and Monty Don immediately spring to mind. The programme is filmed from a real garden 'location' where the various gardening bods demonstrate various....gardening techniques for the edification of the viewers. I have been a big fan of gardening and so of course it follows to watch Gardener's World. The show has had some pretty drastic changes and transformations since it first hit the screens in 1968 where it was presented by Ken Burras who until I Googled them, had no idea who they were. Other more well known hosts have been Percy Thrower, Geoff Hamilton and of course Alan Titchmarsh. Gardener's World follows a fairly standard format and currently that involves the presenter and host gardeners working on the garden at Greenacre in Birmingham.
