Advantages: funny, entertaining, original

Disadvantages: The first 2 series were shown on BBC3, which not everyone can get easily.

Gavin and Stacey is the only tv programme to have had me in stitches for a long time!

The two main characters are a young couple, Gavin (from Essex) and Stacey (from Barry), and the storyline follows their buddin romance through from the first time they meet to their wedding and all the problems that getting married brings them.

The writers are pure genius, some of the one-liners and situations in the programme are inspired. Gavin's Mum makes me laugh, as the first time she met Stacey she pretended to be a vegetarian as her husband had just walked in with bag fulls of vegetarian food that she told him to get in case as she hadnt asked if Stacey's family were meat eaters or not. So all through the rest of the programmes she is constantly stuffing meat in her mouth on the sly.

I love the way his Mum refers to Barry as "Barry's island", makes me chuckle everytime. My family are all from near Barry although I dont live there, so some of the "welsh" jokes are very relevant!

And just what did happen on the fishing trip, Bryn?! There is going to be a Christmas special of Gavin and Stacey so hopefully we might finally find out!!!

Summary: The funniest programme to hit BBC for years!
