Newest Review: ... could be much humour found among elderly residents of a geriatric ward - many of whom are close to actually dying! But I was wrong. It is very, very funny. The series follows Nurse Kim Wilde, who is middle aged but who has been out of nursing for some time. She has just returned, and finds that some things have changed. Health and Safety rules now have changed the ways nuses have to do some things, and she finds this hard to get used to. She has an ally though in the ward Sister, Den, who, while very sweet, is a little bit of a 'loser' in things such as love. I thought that this was an excellent new comedy, and it was a shame that there were only 3 episodes made in the first series. I have heard that a new series is on the way though, so all is not lost! This is similar to 'The Office' in that, although obviously meant to be a comedy, its humour is found in real life situations and not in lots of obvious jokes. The basic idea behind 'Getting On' is that it is set in a geriatric ward of a hospital. When my mum, who I was staying with said she wanted to watch this, and that was the setting for it, I did not have high hopes!
