Advantages: normally a happy ending, but an on going story

Disadvantages: they bored the structure in series 1-3, but hang in there, series 4 is wicked!

Ghost Whisperer is about a woman who can see the dead.

Sound like your kinda thing?

I was a huge fan of Charmed (three sisters who are witches) and after it finished (8 series on) I was alittle lost of what to fill my need of unrealistic drama, preferably with a ghostly/magic twist.

Then I stumbled on Ghost Whisperer, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The basis is Melinda (JLH) who can see ghosts that are trapped here, and so helps them cross over. And in her words "to tell you my story, I have to tell you theirs"

Each episode brings us a bit more of Melinda's story, by watching her helping the unfortunate souls that come to her for help.

Yes each episode runs along the same lines. Ghost comes, Melinda worries and screams, then sorts out the problem for the ghost to 'go into the light' BUT the story of Melinda, her husband and friends comes out a little more each episode, and keeps you hooked.

And then you reach the current series (four), and they throw a nasty little twist into the structure, which is a huge improvement. The twist almost made me cry! (i'm not going to say it here in case people are watching the show and aren't up to date yet)

I actually came into the show at the beginning of series three. I borrowed series one from a friend who had it on DVD, and am currently catching up with series two on Virgin 1 (monday night at 9pm) as well as watching series four on Living TV on a Tuesday night at 9pm.

The friend lent me series one actually watches this show with her 10year old daughter, so although sometimes bits can be quite scary and make you jump, it's not too bad.

I'd recommend this show to anyone with a liking for paranormal things

Summary: Oooooohhhh spooky!

blazeybug - you HAVE to keep watching! my friend spoilt it for me (she saw some clips online), but as another friend of mine is still back on series 2, I wouldn't dream of spoiling it for anyone else. All I'll say, is get the tissues ready for the beginning few of series 4...
