Gillette Soccer Special (Saturday) is a programme broadast on the Sky Sports news channel and also Sky Sports 1 on mainly Saturdays when most of the football is on. It runs from 12pm and goes on for around 6 hours especially if there are games kicking off later on. The programme also runs in midweek when there are a number of games such as when the Champions League is taking place. Gillette Soccer Saturday is a weekly TV programme that airs on Sky Sports News from 12pm until 6pm and Sky Sports 1 and HD1 from 12pm-12.30pm and 3pm-5.30pm (TV schedule allowing, of course). You would think that sitting in front of the TV for 3 hours or so on a Saturday afternoon watching all the football scores unfold would be a somewhat limited concept. However, Soccer Saturday is extremely addictive because I think it also brings humour into the show. In my opinion Jeff Stelling is one of the top TV presenters at the moment and him and the panel always have good banter both prior and during the matches. The programme consists of pundits talking about the games before they kick off and give their opinions on what is going to happen and then they each have a game to commentate on when they kick off at 3pm. Gillette Soccer Saturday is something I look forward to watching every Saturday afternoon. The show has a bit of a cult following and I'm on e of the followers. ~~~What is it ?~~~ The show is basically live football scores coming in from across Britain and being reported on in the studio. The show is anchored by the excellent Jeff Stelling and is joined by four former pros in the studio, which each watch a match from the English Premier League. Live every Saturday on Sky Sports News between midday and 6pm is one of the most entertaining football programmes on TV, in a way I would liken it to watching teletext, which I used to do pre-sky, which entails sitting their all afternoon waiting for any news on how your team are getting on.
