Advantages: Great entertainment, fastest updates from all the action!

Disadvantages: Not as good when your teams not playing!

Gillette Soccer Special and Soccer Saturday is a football results shows that is a show hosted by Jeff Stelling and airs on either Sky Sports One or Sky Sports News, the shows main function is to keep football fans updated to the days scores. The show has been running for many years, over ten years I think! I have been watching it all that time since I was at school. Other broadcasters have copied the format, BBC, setanta and I believe ITV has or used to have their own version of this type of show, all far less successful and half as good.

It has various different pundit's watching a different game which is normally a Premier League Game, and then Jeff Stelling will regularly go to the pundits and find out what is happening in each game. The host has the incredible ability to read the scores with great accurately throughout the show and covers all the scores of the day.

There seems great camaraderie between Jeff and the other pundits and they seem to be friends off screen and this makes the show feel less forced and much more friendly and just like a bunch of mates in the pub talking about the games. There is a lot of banter between the pundits all adding to the appeal of the show. Some of the pundits regularly featured include Phil Tompson, ex Liverpool defender, Mat Le Tissier, ex Southampton legend, Paul Merson, ex Arsenal and Aston Villa great and many more. The lesser games where the pundits are out of the studio and at the game include the fans favourite Kammy! Chris Kamara.

The show is a must for all football fans that like to keep up to date with the football scores and how their team is going. Along the bottom of the screen there is an update bar which gives details of all the goals and sendings offs from all the football leagues in the UK, from the dizzy heights of the premiership to the conference and including welsh league etc.

Being on Sky Sports news it is also available if you do not have Sky and only have free-view channels.

If you are a serious football fan you will be aware of this great show and appreciate it, if you don't know it you can't really be a respectful football fan!

Summary: If you love football you love this!
