Advantages: The mother daughter likeability

Disadvantages: they fall out at one point :(

As we all knew the Credit Crunch would effect everyone, businesses and employers alike, however I didn't think that it would effect me to such a point where I spend all day pretty much sat on my bum filling out tonnes of application forms for jobs and watching the TV..

Yes the dreaded day time TV has lured me in with its warmth and its need to not get up, get dressed, or worry about how I look..
It worked, I'm an addict, E4 in the morning is now my lifeline.. To getting up and wanting to fill in job application forms..

My routine is now waking up, scrambling for the remote and turning on One Tree Hill for 10am, The O.C and then my favourite show of all..

The Gilmore Girls..

So I had to pick up the box set as I was missing some episodes as my exams didn't finish in time, so I picked up season three on DVD.. Provides hours of entertainment if I get bored late at night..


== What is the Gilmore Girls? ==

Gilmore girls is an American drama series following the lives of a mother and daughter living in a sleepy little town called Stars Hollow. Starring Lauren Graham as Loreli Gilmore, and Alexis Bledel, as Rory Gilmore, as the mother and daughter combination that get along so well its quite shocking!
The series made its debut on American television in October 2000, and ended in May 2007 in its seventh season, were Time magazine has named it one of the top 100 television series..
The little town the girls live in is Stars Hollow, Connecticut, a close knit little town with loads of charismatic characters and with just being half hour away from Loreli's parents they are never far away from family trouble and strife..!
If you think you have problems with your family, seeing the struggle Loreli has with her parents gives you a better perspective about how difficult things are.. Although they are rich, so things aren't that difficult, but we all know that money doesn't make all our problems go away.. Though it does help!

Lauren Graham - Loreli Gilmore .. Born to parents Richard and Emily Gilmore, Loreli is an only child who did not fit in with the plan her parents had for her, regardless of this her life has provided 153 episodes of entertainment..!

Alexis Bledel - Rory Gilmore.. Born to Loreli and Christopher at just 16, she and her mother have a great relationship, which Loreli hopes she can become the person she could never have been..!

Scott Patterson - Luke Danes.. Diner owner that Rory and Loreli frequent..!

Kelly Bishop - Emily Gilmore.. Loreli's Mother and Rory's Grandmother..!

== Background to the series ==

Loreli and her family issues are a strong basis to this series, tension with her parents Richard and Emily climaxed before the series began with her becoming a mother to daughter Rory at just 16, the same age as Rory when we pick up the story of these two ladies.. Having refused to marry Rory's father the problems with her parents are not best supportive of her decisions as a mother or otherwise..

Due to this difficult nature of Loreli's relationship with her parents she ran away to the sleepy little town of Stars Hollow.. Were a generous lady named Mia took Loreli and her small daughter in at the Independence Inn which was to become a home and work for Loreli from then onwards..

Until her parents become a bigger part in their lives by funding Rory's education at a posh preparatory school called Chilton, which is where the first season picks up..

== My opinion ==

To be honest I'm pretty much loving this programme at the moment I think we are into the sixth season on E4 and as I said it is my lifeline to actually wanting to get up in the mornings..
For something I only caught by accident it is a quick paced witty show that makes me giggle.. I even got my boyfriend into watching it, so if I am round his in the morning we both end up watching it..
It brighten my day a little bit as I know for a fact the good relationship Rory and Loreli have is something I will never experience!! Jealous as I am I do really like the programme and it is worth a watch if your stuck in the house on a morning!

Summary: Great Distraction from the evryday boredom of lfe!
