Advantages: weather, news, relaxing news reporting

Disadvantages: none

This is the morning show to wake upto each weekday morning. Presenters Penny Smith and John Stapelton are usually the first faces you see. They start of the programe at 6.00 a.m. each morning with the 'newshour', running through till 7.00 a.m. Although this news show obviously touches on some very serious topics, the shows format isn't that of a stuffy news show. It's presented in a relaxed way, sitting on the sofa with their brew to hand. Penny and John seem to have a great working relationship and bring the news to you along with some dry sense of humour.

Once 7.00 a.m. strikes the show changes slightly and then so do the presenters. There's quite a few to choose from so changes daily. The format is still relaxed, consisting of pop groups singing their latest singles, celebrity what nots and then off course the funny Richard Arnold giving you his run down of the TV.

Inbetween all of the above, you can catch your local news, the GMTV news each half hour and then the weather. The weather reports are usually done within the warm studio, however on occasions you could see them being blown of a pier near you in gale force winds.

Again, once it turns 8.35 a.m. the presenter changes for the last time to Lorraine Kelly and again so does the format. The woman can get all their clothes and make-up tips, and then Dr. Hilary can give you all your medical advice.

Martin Lewis seems to be on hand more lately, and with the credit crisis at the moment his money making/saving tips and ideas are definately not to be missed.

The show ends at 9.25 a.m. each morning. You can catch a news hour each Sunday morning, however i think its on about 6.00 a.m. - far too early for me and yes, guess what, the format changes again to a more political/religious show.

If you haven't already watched GMTV I would recommend it - especially if your trying to get the older kids to take notice of what is going on in the world around them. It makes you realise that although serious and horrible stuffy is going on that yes we do need to know - we don't have to get caught up in it and be serious and saddened to much.

Summary: Happy news with happy presenters
