GMTV stands for Good Morning TeleVision, and it really is a great way to brighten up your morning. The show runs from 06:00 to 09:25 and is what I would call a magazine show, full of variety and entertainment. There are two main sets of presenters which come in pairs. Andrew Castle and Kate Garraway and Emma Crosby and Ben Shepherd. ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on GMTV
by anon - written on 28/04/09
Rating:

GMTV is your classic example of tabloid TV. They jump on every scandal, and every chance to tell the nation that we are doomed - houses too expensive, recession is coming, house market crash, stock exchange problems etc etc - almost willing these problems to befall society so they have bad news stories to tell. This program thrives on human misery, and seeks to spread it at any opportunity. GMTV is only worth watching for the local news from your region (actual true news not hyped up lies backed up with "figures" from a "leading authority" usually in the form of a percentage).

To sum it up, if you want to start the day with a depressed outlook on life watch, or you want a detailed weather forecast for Scotland, watch GMTV.

This is the morning show to wake upto each weekday morning. Presenters Penny Smith and John Stapelton are usually the first faces you see. They start of the programe at 6.00 a.m. each morning with the 'newshour', running through till 7.00 a.m. Although this news show obviously touches on some very serious topics, the shows format isn't that of ...  Read the complete review

How will GMTV cope now that fiona phillips has left? GMTV is a morning television programme that has been running on ITV for many years now and for some is part of a morning routine that has remained unchanged for at least a decade. I watch this every morning and I find it very informative however I do have a few gripes.... I find that the news stories are always very dramatically told. The credit crunch recently has been really over done. We all know what is happening but all the doom and gloom is really shoved down our throats! Some of the presenters ...  Read the complete review

I have a beef with GMTV, however I do still watch it which is odd. I find the BBC version so dry. What really winds me up about it could apply to all ITV news programmes. Why is the reporting so overdramatic? I think it was made very plain in the last few weeks when all the credit crunch news was so unavoidable. GMTV might as well have ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review GMTV - handy clock in the corner! (333 words)
by - written on 13/08/08 (Very useful, 95 readings)

GMTV is often the perfect programme to wake up to. There is a good mix of serious news, entertainment, fashion and lifestyle. There is also the handy clock in the bottom left corner to remind you that you got up 15 minutes late and need to rush if you are going to catch that train. Whilst I enjoy most of the content that GMTV has to ...  Read the complete review

There is a choice of three ways to get the morning news on TV (assuming you don't subscribe to satellite services). There is the Breakfast programme on BBC1 which is all sit-up-and-take-notice-this-is-important, there is The Big Breakfast which has an apologetic news section which smacks of here is the news because we're contractually obliged to ...  Read the complete review

GMTV is the breakfast television station broadcasting on Channel 3 from 6.00-9.25am. They won the breakfast contract in 1993 from TV-am, who started in 1983. GMTV follows the same idea as TV-am did, relaxed, lifestyle programming with a bit of news and current affairs mixed in. What a refreshing programme to wake up to in the mornings. As soon as I get up, I see the faces of Fiona Phillips and Eamon Holmes, and they act so laid back, and are very down to earth. Have you noticed how Fiona Philips has bags under her eyes, big enough to do your shopping in? Penny Smith (though getting those bags) still cracks a joke, but Fiona - no chance, she sits there miserable, and tired. I do think maybe the show would be better without her! Enough of this perona slaying! The programme begins at 6 am (Yes ...  Read the complete review

Perhaps I am a very sad person, but I like nothing better than getting up in the morning , switching on the TV and having my breakfast with GMTV. Oh I know somedays the presenters look like they have no colour sense or even dress sense, but I like the way the programme is set out, and they all seem so happy even if it is early. Penny Smith always ...  Read the complete review
