God, The Devil and BobNewest Review: ... in Smeck who is one of those brilliant comic inventions who appears to get everything wrong but in fact is probably more in tune with reality than his boss. Ultimately the Devil is continually frustrated by Bob choosing the path which God has identified. The programme is sharply written and paced superbly. The voices are all perfect for the roles too. It is difficult to find anything to ... more |

If only we in Britain could produce a comedy as brilliant, relevant, thought provoking and funny as God The Devil and Bob. If only we could produce some comedy output without any social comment having to be thrown in our faces by some 20-something stand-up comedian who has barely started shaving. As for Britain ever producing anything of any consequence using the cartoon medium then unfortunately with the lone exception of Bob and Margaret it is hard to find anything of any value. I guess it's a grown up cartoon - hence the late evening time (duh!), and as such offers a less frenetic view of things than say the Simpsons or Futurama (my other fave cartoons). Aah, British actors in US cartoons - at last (i think it's a new idea anyway!), with Alan Cumming(s?), at his camp best as the Devil. Bob - married with two ... Read the complete review

In a world where there is murder, theft and dishonesty lives a man called Bob. He’s just a normal average guy dealing with the stress of his job, his wife Donna and bringing up his popularity obsessed young teen daughter, Megan and young son Andy, who appears to live in a world of his own, which greatly contributes to this original comedy. The world of course is ours and in a final attempt to keep it, instead of scrapping the old one and starting over again, God decides to get the help of Bob. Bob is given several things to do to prove that the world isn’t such a bad place and is worth keeping, such as writing ‘smile’ on a ... Read the complete review

This feast of dead pan commedy is well worth tuning in to every tuesday night. Albeit 20mins long the show presents some real issues in a commical - yet not to 'rip to shreads' manner. God and The Devil decide to put the worlds future into the hands of Bob a regular american guy who is, up un til now, a very shallow perosn who likes to wathcj the superbowls with a beer. Well this is all very well and funny - lets just hope it never happens!!!! ... Read the complete review
