Advantages: Exciting & unpredictable
Disadvantages: Drags out a bit being an hour long
Golden Balls is a game show broadcast on ITV1 at teatime on weekdays. It is presented by comedian Jasper Carrot, but with the wealth of game shows around at the moment, how does this compare?
Well I personally think it's rather different from what else is out there & is based not only on luck but also who else you think you can trust.
The show starts with 4 contestants each being given a set of five balls. The balls are either sums of money or kliller balls. Two of each player's balls are visible to everyone, whilst the other three are not. So the player must say what he/she has got but of course they may not be telling the truth. The aim is to remove the killer balls from the game & each player decides who should be eliminated at the end of each round, with the player getting the most votes having to leave the show.
At the end there are two players left for the final round, with the 10 balls left in the game going through at this point. They must take it in turns to pick a ball to bin and another to keep which adds to their prize money. However each killer ball picked will drastically reduce the cash total, hence the reason to make sure these balls are eliminated earlier in the game.
At the end of this there will be a total final jackpot, however the game doesn't end here. The player have two final balls, one which is a steal ball & the other which is a split ball. The players must each choose a ball and then reveal it. If both players split, the money is split equally between both players. If one person steals & the other splits, the person who picked the steal ball wins all the money. However if both players pick the steal ball, they both leave the show with nothing.
As you can tell this is quite an entertaining show and you can never predict what happens, definetly worth a watch.
Summary: Worth a watch

- 19/09/09 I know it is only a game, but I can't stick it when at the very end, one person steal huge amounts of money from the other player after swearing so convincingly that they will split. I love it though when they both steal and loose money through their greed. Great review. |
