Advantages: great show, funy, witty, comedy
Disadvantages: none at all
Goodness Gracious Me is a comedy program which evolves around the daily lives of indian people. This program takes the mickey out of both English and Indian people - but everyone still enjoys watching it. I stumbled across this show when I was at my cousin's house. They kept saying if I want to watch it - I didn't know what it was and thought it would be another boring, dumb show. I was wrong and I really enjoyed it and I had a good laugh - probably just like all of you. The characters in this program are all very funny, entertaining and silly. They are say some weird and wacky lines and do funny acts. Here are a few tips from the Goodness Gracious Me team: 'The London "Tube", as it is known, is the best way to get about the capital. Be warned though, it can get pretty crowded during the "rushing hour" and the British seem to have a very different sense of personal space. If you find yourself squashed up against some smelly Londoner the best approach is to scream loudly and hit out. They'll back off pretty quick.' 'The English train system is fairly primitive and some journeys can take days. The booking system is impossible and the stations are always crowded. The best approach is to barge to the front of the queue and shout at the ticket man. All the locals do.' 'As a general rule, don't eat meat. The standard of meat in UK is poor and most types of meat will be contaminated in some way. You should be OK in up market restaurants but never buy from the street vendors. Similarly, although you will see locals drinking tap water, they will have built up immunity to the bacteria. Don't try to imitate them. Fortunately, nowadays, bottled water is readily available.' 'The famous English Black Cabs must be experienced. The drivers are known for their friendliness and helpfulness to foreigners. Be warned though, they will try and charge you the price on the "m
eter". Don't be taken in. Offer a few pounds less and walk away, they'll respect you for it.' Hope you enjoyed the tips and take much use in them. The characters are all funny, and are supposed to all be Indian in the show. You may be surprised to find that only one of the members of cast is really an Indian - Nina Wadia. She has worked in many places, including radio, television and theatre. Other members of the cast include Kulvinder Ghir, Meera Syal, Sanjeev Bhaskar. All of these people have accomplished what I think is a greatrole in an excellent TV program, tehy are all entertaining and enjoyable to watch. Overall, this program is witty, funny, entertaining, enjoyable and plain comedy. That is what every comedy program tries to aim for - but only a few of them make it. This is recommended for teenagers, adults and possibly older children who will be entering their teens soon. It is not recommended for younger viewers because of its offensive content and rude language, etc.
