Advantages: well written, makes you care about the characters

Disadvantages: clinical trials can sometimes need a little stretch of the imagination!

I started watching Grey's Anatomy on my iPod at the gym to try and make time go quicker, I had to stop as after I got pregnant I'd find myself in tears jogging because of one story line or another! And so I moved to the TV version which I could record and watch (and weep at) in my own time! I love the characters, each one having their own little 'quirk' that means you can relate to one either through yourself or someone you know. The storylines are great and more often than not believable and you do tend to actually care what happens to each patient you see - they don't let a patient live for the sake of a happy ending though (hence the crying!)

It's got some great (and in my opinion under-rated) actors in as well as a couple of more well known stars like Katherine Heigl who is currently branching out in to films.

If you like your medical dramas to be a little more 'real', to get you involved in not only what happens in the hospital but what happens when they hang up their white coats and go home then I suggest you watch this (starting at series 1 - no cheating and jumping straight to 4!)

Summary: If you like ER, Casualty and Holby City give this a go, if you dont give it a go anyway!
