Being a fan of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, I was quite looking forward to watching Grown Up's which is written by Sue Nickson, the writer of Two Pints and also contains some of the Two Pints cast.
Grown Up's is about a group of friends that are in there mid to late 20's and are having to face the prospect that they are actualy growing up, but in their heads this is something that they don't want to do. It is now currently in the second series, aired on BBC3 at 10:30 on Tuesdays and repeated on a Monday at 9:30 on the same channel.
Michelle - is the local bike and has a reputation that she will sleep with anything. She is currently working as a legal secretary and only managed to get the job as a fluke and because her boss fancies her. She doesn't really like working and would be happy at home. She is a nice enough person however sometimes she lands herself into trouble when she acts before she thinks which always results in her hurting some of the people that are close to her and mean a lot to her.
Grant - is from Wales and has moved up north. He is a solicitor and is in love with Michelle. Even though they have slept together there is no future for them as Grant is not Michelle's type, as he is a little shy and naive, however his heart is in the right place. Michelle see's Grant as her best friend and they would do anything for each other. They share everything however Grant is very jealous of her lovelife, and boyfriends that she may have.
Chris - is Michelle's flatmate, and is currently studying at University for a PhD. Chris does not want to work and would be quite hapy spending the rest of his life as a student. Chris seems to get girlfriends however normallt blows it at the early stages due to his immaturity or by sleeping with Michelle. He is on the verge of 30 and acts as though he has only just left school.
Jenny - new to this series and is Michelle's mate from Scotland. She has started to work in the local bar and was instantly attracted to Chris, however when they got together, Chris managed to mess it all up by trying to act younger for her as she is only 20, however has a good head on her shoulders.
The programme itself is pretty funny, however when you are as big a fan of Two Pints of Lager as I am, comparing them, Grown Ups is not a patch on the comedy set in Runcorn.
