In some small way it's like That 70's show but for me is better. The show itself tried to represent an idea of life in the mid 1950s to mid 1960s for a normal American family in that decade. When I think of Happy Days I always think of one character in particular and that is the Fonz and he's one of the most famous characters since this show was aired years ago and has been used in many shows since and reference in so many American comedies and cartoons. Happy Days was a very popular American TV Sitcome that originally aired between 1974 and 1984. It ran for eleven seasons and there were more than 200 episodes made in total. I was too young to remember it when it was first aired but have watched numerous re-runs and repeats of the show since and really enjoyed the fun, light-hearted way in which it as made. In some small way it's like That 70's ...  Read the complete review

Happy Days is a much loved American sitcom that ran from 1974 to 1984 and encompassed the lives of the Cunningham family and those around it. It was set in 1950s and 1960s America, and presented an Utopian view of life on the whole in that era. The main character was Richie Cunningham, the son of the family, played by Ron Howard. Richie was the good kid type teenager, with high morals and a lot of respect. The stpry of the program would often centre around him and his friends Potsie and Malphie, played by Anson Williams and Donny Most. HIs two friends would constantly get him in and out of trouble, and the three always had getting a girl on the ...  Read the complete review

Happy Days: Getting old badly (261 words)

This was one of those comedies from the 70's that went on a bit too long and towards the end the main character called Fonzie played by Henry Winkler became a characature of himself as the actor became too old for the character he portrayed. The Fonzie was the biker jacket clad super cool babe magnet in this comedy set in 1950's America however despite the cool veneer I always felt there was something sad about him as he was a mechanic who I think lived above the garage of the Cunningham family, a very white wholesome middle America family. The father was played by Tom Bosely while the son Ritchie was played by Ron Howard who has had a more successful ...  Read the complete review

Happy Days, a sit-com set in 1950s America, introduced me and many of my generation to the concept of cool. The show revolved around the Cunningham family, Mr and Mrs C, Joanie (their toothsome teenage daughter) and Richie (their extraordinarily geeky son). For some reason that I for one never understood (but didn't really worry about) into this "normal" family was pitched "The Fonz" (for such was his name) or "Fonzie". This King of Cool was like an iceberg. You had to put him in the freezer to warm him up. Apparently they made over 250 shows, so you get some idea of how popular it was. The ...  Read the complete review

Sunday Monday, Happy Days!! Tuesday Wednesday, Happy Days, Thursday Friday, Happy days, Saturday what a day........ Heeeeey!!! The call of the Fonze, possibley the first man I ever fancied. Happy Days was cool I loved the music, I loved the characters and I loved the storylines. In fact I loved them so much that I almost cried when Henry Winkler aka. The Fonze got killed in Scream. Mr and Mrs Cunningham, Richie, Joanie and Cha cha..... they all seemed like your own family. I used to wish that the McDonalds in my town was full of cool people like their diner was. Even now I dream of meeting someone like the Fonze. He looked just like my mums younger ...  Read the complete review
