Harper's Island was a 13 part series on BBC3 that ended the other weekend, and I have to say I am at a bit of a loss now its not on! ** Basic Plot and Characters ** Henry Dunn (Christopher Gorham) and Trish Wellington (Katie Cassidy) are due to be married and have chosen to return to Harper's Island, the place they met and grew up in. They bring their families and friends and family with them for a week of preparations and fun. Abby Mills (Elaine Cassidy) hasn't been back to the Island for 7 years, not since her mother and several other people were murdered by a man called John Wakefield. Abby's father Sheriff Charlie ... Introduction ====================== Originally broadcast on American television station CBS earlier this year, Harper's Island is a murder mystery programme which has just finished airing on BBC3 here in the UK. Set over 13, 42 minute episodes it seems to have been made from the same mould as many slasher films, whether it is attractive women running through the woods or a mysterious killer out to get the whole cast, Harper's Island seems to include pretty much every genre convention. This is a horror/thriller I would say which has recently been aired on BBC3. It consists of 13 episodes in which a character is killed off at the end of each. It is a pretty gorey with some gruesome scenes, however the story line I feel is very cripping. Unfortunatly I missed the first 3 or 4 episodes I think however after watching one of them I realised the story stright away (thanks to the reminder at the beggining of each episode) and was hoocked stright away. Main Cast ** Wakefield - Murderer & had a affair with Abbeys mum who he killed also Abbey - Daughter of Sherrif & best friend to Henry & is in Love with Jimmy Henry - ... Read the complete review

Harper's Island is an American T.V show that has recently begun showing on BBC3 every sunday night in double episodes. The basic premise of the show is as a homage to such mystery thrillers as Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None with another cast member being bumped off with each and every chapter! The show lasts for thirteen episodes and is currently about half-way through and though it comes across as typical trashy American Television, still there is something almost addictive about the show that manages to keep you hooked despite the fact that all of the characters are completely shallow, vacuous and unlikeable. Basically seven years ago, a serial ... Read the complete review
