Harry and the Hendersons

Newest Review: ... The point is, a man dressed in a stupid bigfoot costume and surrounded by a cast of washed-out adult American actors and sugary little over-paid brats does not make for good comedy. And when the script is as woefully inadequate as that of "Harry" et al. then it simply makes for an experience which is alternately dull and amusing in a perverse, "laughing at the mentally deficient" kind of way. Last time I saw this it was on at some unearthly hour. I sincerely hope that the BBC have removed it from their schedules altogether - my life has been far more rewarding during the years of silence from this trashy "comedy&qu... more

"Harry and the Hendersons" struck me as unfunny when I was nine. Even then it seemed unsophisticated (and I couldn't have even said that word then). The point is, a man dressed in a stupid bigfoot costume and surrounded by a cast of washed-out adult American actors and sugary little over-paid brats does not make for good comedy. This series must have come to the UK really cheap and of course the BBC in their wisdom decided to buy it up. Why did the bother it sucks, crap acting canned laughter no storylines and how on earth they expected to make a comedy out of some bloke in a hairy suit having to hide in a house I will never know. It’s about time the BBC got its act together and stopped importing Crap and spend our license money on better thing. Stay away from this series at all costs. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Harry and the Hendersons: BIG Foot, just BAD (166 words)

I thought the point of a comedy was to make you laugth, well the people who made this don't seem to think so. It could be the worse programme to appear on television, to start with the the song to the show is irritating, then you see the Big foot, himself, its a man in a suit, not only that it has the head of ex wwf star HULK HOGAN. The jokes are all lame that you have heard a million times, and you didn't laugh the first time, the set up is of the "normal" American family who have a strange pet that is Big Foot, and the show has most of its jokes aimed at the beast which is a little unfair. I would not wish any one to see ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Why did they bother?? (87 words)
by - written on 06/08/00 (Useful, 35 readings)

Why on earth did they bother with this one? Was the film not bad enough, that they then decide to torture us with an awful sitcom with cheesey acting! I will admit that when I first saw the film (as a very young kid I must stress!) I loved it, but the series was really boring. The storyline was thin and constantly repeated as there are only so many ways of making a bloke dressed up in a hairy suit having to hide around the house funny. ...  Read the complete review

This a crappy excuse for a naff sitcom. Ok so its based on a novel ida, having a big foot living with them is novel :). but it makes no difference. on the sad occasions that i have watched this show, its like any other. the family just act like harry isnt there or like he just another person. they havent utilisted him to make one single interesting storyline. I would advise you to stay well away from thisone unless you want to use it as an anesthetic! ...  Read the complete review
