Harry Enfield & Chums

Newest Review: ... 'putting his foot in his mouth' by coming out with accidental expressions against his gay son unintentially. I particularly like it when he went on about the 'poof' smell about aftershave given by his sons boyfriend. He goes on for 5 minutes trying to say he wasnt calling him a poof. Harry's partney, Kathy Burke is also a very good comedian and plays the part of Perry in Kevin & Perry very well. This sketch can relate to teenagers and parents alike - the troublesome teenage and the annoying parents. When he is given the job of cleaning the car he takes all day to do it - a typical teenagers attitude to cleanin... more

Harry Enfield is one of the best comedies that is shown on our screens today. Most of his sketches relate to our lives today which is what makes them so funny. We are able to relate our own lives to what he is performing. I particularly like his gay sketches. They are hilariously funny. Harry plays the part of always 'putting his foot in his mouth' by coming out with accidental expressions against his gay son unintentially. I particularly like it when he went on about the 'poof' smell about aftershave given by his sons boyfriend. He goes on for 5 minutes trying to say he wasnt calling him a poof. Harry Enfield and chums is a show which has many characters in it and all are different and based on different groups of people. Most of the characters are based on stereotypes which is funny but not really at all offensive. My favoutite character like many others ha to be Kevin. He is the reluctant lazy teenager who hates his parents. His famous line is I hate you, nobady can do this better then the great harry enfields. There are other people involved, paul whitehouse who also plays key roles. Whenever it comes on I have to watch it. It is good fun ...  Read the complete review

Harry Enfield has to be one of the true masters of modern comedy television shows. He uses stereotyped characters and just plays them to maximum effect, best shown in my favourite, the Tim nice but dim sketches. These have to include some of the funniest scenes of all time especially if you were lucky enough to see the special devoted to Tim nice but dim (I especially liked some of the scenes around the house). His show has to be admired for the way with which using so few characters he can construct such a good show. With just three actors and a few extras where necessary he can construct a half hour of pure laughs. His shows can beat so many others because other ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Harry Enfield & Chums: Betty Swollocks? (139 words)

Harry Enfield and Chums is a very, very amusing comedy show comprised of a series of short sketches with several very popular characters and stereotypical scenarios. The cast and writers consists of Kathy Burke, Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse. These characters include; Kevin and Perry in a very stereotypical (and as a teenager unfair) teenage son/parents rebellion situation, Tim nice but dim (a very dim and highly amusing man), honest john the car salesman who cannot lie, the two mens shop assistants, wayne and waynette (repulsive!), the two cruel old men and a few more! These sketches are absolutely hilarious with the exception of the repetitive and not amusing men ...  Read the complete review
