Advantages: hilarious!
Disadvantages: I don't have uk gold
Maybe this is the secret behind Harry Enfield's characters - they are so closely observed that we feel like we've really met them before! Kevin has become a byword for the teenage son....as in "he's a real Kevin!" and so accurately and hilariously portrayed so as to almost be enough to relax a stressed mum of a teenage boy by remembering Kevin at a moment of conflict thus enabling her to find a funny side to an otherwise endlessly frustrating situation! I can't imagine that there are many people in the UK unfamiliar with Kevin's meanderings though the teenage morass of emotions, or his and Perry's impeccable politeness to eachothers parents and appalling rudeness to their own....he must have been watching teenagers very carefully! Although Kevin is the star, there are so many other believably funny characters.....from Tim nice but dim, to a real favourite of mine - the Spanish footballer Julio who speaks alternately in Spanish and Geordie several times in the same sentence.....for sheer acting ability, he wins hands down! If you've never watched this comedy sketch show, have a look......it's one of the best, and I'm sure you'll recognise *someone*!
