Advantages: Clever and funny

I was a bit of a late comer to this show having never really rated Harry Hill's previous TV and stand up work, but after seeing his TV Burp show win countless comedy awards I thought I had better give it a go and I, for the most part, am glad I did.

I like to see original and fresh comedy and the good thing about this show is that it is basically reliant on things that are on TV that week. Harry makes things that you wouldn't spot seem funny and has a good knack of switching the context on innocent sounding and looking things so that they become very funny. This must be hard for him to do sometimes as you cannot guarantee things being on that week will lend themselves to it. For this reason, I have to applaud the production team and Harry himself for being able to produce the goods as regularly as they do.

As a big Eastenders fan, I always love the frequent mickey taking he does of the week's events in Albert square. It is funny to see how Harry's mind works and twists things that I remembered watching but just never saw it that way. Some of the segments Harry does are scraping the barrel somewhat but, for the most part, he comes up with very funny scenarios.

I am not too keen on the ridiculous "fight" he has in his studio every week as I think this is a cheap tactic to fill some time. Maybe there should be something else in the show instead of this. I would love to see him interview one of the stars he has made look daft that week.

The action on TV Burp is fast paced and vibrant and Harry delivers the narrative perfectly with his own unique style. I don't think anyone else could do this show and on the episodes I have seen, it is clear to see why the awards have flowed over the years.

I am looking forward to the next series already and this has become a firm favourite on my Sky+ planner.
