Advantages: Funny, satirical panel show

Disadvantages: only on for half an hour

This is one of my faourite shows on television. The show is a satirical quiz looking at the last weeks events. It has pretty much always been shown on BBC2 but the last few series the show has moved to BBC1 in the UK.

The show lasts half an hour and used to have a regular host - Angus Deayton. He left the show 6 years ago and ever since then it has been the case that a guest presenter has done an individual episode each - with Alexander Armstrong holding the record I believe for the most number of guest host appearances.

One thing that has remained the same over the years is the team captains - Ian Hislop and Paul Merton. They are each joined by a guest and go through making funny comments as they play different rounds such as odd one out and the missing words round. Ian hislop was quite wooden when the show started but has loosened up over the years and is prone to going into a rant. Paul Merton is a well established comedian and is consistently the funniest person on the show in my opinion. The show is generally on at 9pm and if you haven't seen it before I would certainly recommend it to you.

Summary: Great bit of light heared banter
