Hell's Kitchen is an ITV1 based cooking show which has been hosted by Angus Deayton (Series 1-3) and Claudia Winkleman (Series 4 -) and the head chefs have been Gordon Ramsay (Series 1) Gary Rhodes & Jean Christophe Novelli (Series 2) Marco Pierre White (Series 3 -) and it is has recently finished it's 4th series. Each series has had a slightly different format and slightly different voting styles and in the most recent series (4) Marco Pierre White was responsible for choosing the first four sackings and the second four sackings and subsequently the winner were voted for my members of the general public voting. Before I begin this review may I tell you that it is going to be solely about the series which finished last night, culminating in the ever tearful Linda Evans being crowned the winner. It's not the irritating Gordon Ramsay hosting the show now but mad as a hatter Marco Pierre White, a strapping oversized Yorkshireman who specialises in reminding me of Jason from Halloween! As the shows host and mentor he is fabulous, obviously he affects this persona for television but he is apparently not much different when the cameras are switched off. He has the honour of being the youngest chef to obtain three Michelin stars and it's apparent from his work and attitude ...

As a new found fan of cooking and everything to do with it, I have now found myself hooked to various TV cooking shows and Hell's Kitchen falls into that category. With that in mind I cannot comment on how this show worked during the Gordon Ramsay era, but I can on how it works now with new head chef Marco Pierre White at the helm. I must admit that I was expecting a little more on "how to" cook from the show but that was my own lack of prior knowledge of the shows format really and what we have in Hell's Kitchen is far better. You can watch "how to" cook shows any day of the week but what this brings you is excitement, rows, tears, more ...
