Was a great show now its just OK. (Heroes)

Advantages: Premise is different to other mainstream shows

Disadvantages: Repetitive story.

Even though that Heroes is a blatant rip-off of X-Men, since it aired Heroes has been acclaimed as the greatest show ever by most of those who have watched it, and based on its opening season I would have agreed with them but since then Heroes has somewhat lost its way since that great debut season.

Season 1, as you may expect, introduced the main cast, some of which are starting to realise that they were somehow "different", whilst others in the main cast didn't have powers but inevitably knew someone who did have some special ability. This was great in my opinion as they was a nice mixture of people with abilities and people without abilities, whereas now every new character has some ridiculous power. The season culminates in your typical good vs. evil battle in an open square in New York, a battle the good guys need to win otherwise the world will end., the build up to which is both action-packed and informative.

Season's 2 and 3 have failed to live up to season 1 this could be down to the fact that season 1 was just amazing. The plots that have been produced since season 1 have not been imaginative, for example Hiro's trip to Japan in season 2 not to mention the god-awful West and Claire love story line. The later seasons have also seen a decline in invention when it comes to the powers that certain people have, everyone just seems to shoot things from their hands, whether its fire, blue fire, electricity or even red electricity!

Since its conception it seems the writers have lost some of their "mojo" which has culminated in a number of them getting fired recently along with an executive producer.

Fact of the matter is Heroes seems to be going round in circles, lacking creation and imagination, currently here we are in season three and once again we are staring at a good versus evil battle, which once again if the good guys don't win the world will end! Boring to say the least.

The real shame is that Heroes can be great again, it just requires an injection of imagination and originality, I'm hoping it returns to its former glory pretty soon rather than continuing to remain average.

Summary: A show that is now a shadow of its former self.
