Advantages: Great TV Drama

Disadvantages: May need to hide behind a cushion whilst the surgical procedure takes place!!

Holby City, advertised as HOLBY CI+Y, is a BAFTA award winning medical drama tv serial which is shown on BBC One in the UK. It is a spin-off from Casualty, and is set in the same hospital, with occasional crossovers of characters and plotlines. (Especailly christmas specials) It follows the lives of surgeons, nurses, staff and patients at the fictional Holby City Hospital. The show has had a number of writers, including the current Executive Producer, Tony McHale.

Holby city began in January 2009. The regualr characters in the show are all staff and then the patients are played by guest actors, some of these have had famous faces such as Eric Sykes, Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin from Corronation Street) and Lee Ryan(from boy band Blue).

One of my favourite plot lines in ths show at present is the triangle between Jac, Faye (played by Patsy Kensit) and Joseph, there are still many more twists and turns for this plot to take i'm sure! I also really enjoyed the plot about the 'siameese twins' resulting in a fantastic episode where they were sucessfully separated.

I have Holby set on my Sky Plus series link as I hate to miss an episode! I really recomend this program as it is 1 hour of TV escapisam!
