Advantages: Realistic, Good characters

Disadvantages: Dr. Merrick is dead, Annoying ex-Coronation St. bird.

As a medical student, you'd think that I'd want to watch some non-medical related programs, as a break, wouldn't you? But Holby City is just too good to miss. For me, though, the whole programme is made what it is, by the character Anton Meyer. He is genuinely like most surgeons. He is pompous, arrogant, mysterious, and yet a highly skilled emotionless robot at the same time. Brilliant storylines have made this fantastic character a solid foundation for the entire programme.

The recent death of Dr. Merrick has kept everyone glued to their sets and emphasised what a compelling drama this is. Infact, all the patients and doctors are very believable. The thing that lets this programme down is the nurses. Yes, they do do an excellent job in real life, as they do in Holby City. The only differences are that,
1) They go about their job in a much nicer way on the TV.
2) They are much prettier on Holby City than in real life.

Also, that ex-Coronation street hairdresser, who is now a dreadlocked nurse-practitioner really gets up my nose because she's getting too big for her boots, and she's got an annoying whining voice.

All said and done, I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Don't have a go at Jaz. I think she's great. But it's a shame Julie's gone and Victoria was a bit of a pain. She never really convinced me as a surgeon. And if you watched it last night (the last episode of the series) who would have guessed whodunnit?

What? Dr. Merrick is dead?! Ah dang, that was the only worthwhile excuse I had for watching this programme. Um, help me out!
Oh, I know, ...I'll just say I'm researching for a...no, that won't work! Hmmph, I suppose I'll just have to admit to liking this programme!

Great programme, it would never be the same if Anton Meyer was to leave though.
