Advantages: Targeted at the younger audience compared to other soaps so there is a soap for teenages.

Disadvantages: Can't think of any...

Hollyoaks is the best soap opera on TV in my opinion. Hollyoaks is more of a soap opera for teenagers and young adults rather then other major soap operas like Coronation street and Eastenders which are aimed more at the older tv audience.

I find that Hollyoaks is in touch with what happens in the real world and deals with them in a good way. Additionally it is also aimed at the issues that would affect the people that would be watching (teenages) so the audience watching can relate to the show more as it is more directed towards them. It isn't as far fetched as other soaps which are unrealistic and deal with problems that many people won't ever deal with. There are quite a few really good actors in Hollyoaks that i think could go on to much better things in the future such as Chris Fountain who play Justin. I felt his never ending storyline with Becca (Ali Bastian) did show that he is talented and such a great actor.

Summary: The best soap opera around in my opinion with many great actors with great potencial.
