I've always been interested in soaps, but Hollyoaks takes it to another level. The soap is on channel 4 and is becoming increasingly more popular due to the fantastic story lines and cast.

The show first aired in octber 1995 and was created by the writer of Grange Hill andBrookside - Phil Redmond. It is set in the fictional town of Chesterfield near Liverpool and focuses on the lives and loves of teenages and twenty-something year olds.

Hollyoaks has launched the careers of many well known celebrities, including:
Will Mellor,Elize Du Toit, Jeremy Edwards, Natalie Casey, Gemma Atkinson, Gary Lucy and Terri Dwyer.

The current cast are by the far the best looking cast on any TV show! I think this is a huge reason for the growing number of viewers.

Holyoaks recently won 6 awards at the British Soap awards, including best actress ( Emma Rigby), Best Actor (Chris Fountain), Sexiest Female (Roxanne McKee) and Best On Screen Partnership (Max Cunningham and OB).

The show is currently on Channel 4 five times a week at 6.30pm, and channel 4 provide you with plenty of times to catch-up on missed episodes. E4 also air the next episode a day early for the keen fans who can't wait the 24hrs to see how the cliff hangers resolve themselves.

Hollyoaks now and again has special late night editions of the show, which allows certain story lines to take a more risky approach and involve a slightly more adult nature.

It is reported that filming is about to start on a new five-part series spin off of Hollyoaks. I'll waiting atticipation to hear more about this.
