Advantages: mindless viewing when you need it

Hollyoaks is a daytime British Soap on Channel 4. It's on everyday with an omnibus on Sunday and frequent repeats on E4.

It is aimed at a younger auidence than your average soap like Eastenders, mostly teenagers and young adults. Most of the cast are under 30 and they are more attractive than your average cast. In fact, it seems the main criteria for a job in the programme is that you look good because it certainly isn't that you can act. Maybe that was a little harsh, the cast can act but they won't be achieving any big awards anytime soon.

The plot is far fetched with murder, faking of deaths, lesbian kisses and affairs a regular accourance. The plots are generally pretty stupid and unlike real life but then soaps are usually a little far fetched.

Hollyoaks really isnt good viewing at all but somehow I always seem to find myself watching it and you don't have to watch every episode to know whats going on because it's pretty predictable. With all the repeats on E4 and T4 you cant help but acceidently know whats going on, even if you are using it as background noise and not really paying attention.

Summary: ok if you just need background noise
