Hollyoaks is a great soap but has only been around for about 5 years. I started watching it a few years ago and I love it. Hollyoaks is different to other soaps, the characters are funnier and some of the storylines can be better. Although Hollyoaks could never be better then soaps like Eastenders and Coronation Street it is still a great soap which is worth watching.

Hollyoaks is great with it's storylines, they have great plots but they are spread out, not many and far between. I prefer it like this because it makes the storys more exciting if there hasn't been a good one for ages. Over the years Hollyoaks has been about there have been quite a few dramatic ones. Some are below.

Rob Hawthorn;
Rob has to be the most evil man on television. He went out with Lucy Benson and sold her drugs and other things. Then Lucy's brother Kurt threw him off a roof and left him to die. Unfortunately he survived and came back for revenge. HE kidnapped Kurt, Lewis, Kurt's wife Ruth and Lucy's boyfriend Tony and took them to a huge water tank. He threw them in there and kept changing the temperature of the water and left them to die. Eventually they got out. Then when they thought it was over Rob came back with a can of petrol and a match. He lit the bus on fire when they were in it but he ended up killing himself and not the others. That was the last we Saw of Rob Hawthorn.

Mandy's rape;
This is probably one of the best storylines. Mandy Richardson's father raped her after Sol had been round. She then ran away to London and the police assumed that Sol had something to do with it. Then Mandy's father and brother went to look for her. They eventually caught up with her but she ran away and at the end of an episode we saw her about to jump off a bridge. Everyone assumed she was dead but then she turned up in hospital after being knocked down by a car. When she finally got better she told the police what had happened and
he was sent to jail.

These are just two of the many storylines, others include Luke's rape and the fire at the Dog in the Pond. Over the few years it's been around Hollyoaks has brought us some great characters and storylines. I love watching Hollyoaks and I think that it is a great soap.
