When i first saw hollyoaks i thought it had to be the worst soap i had ever seen along side cornation street and the bill...maybe ITV hasn't got it in them to make good soaps??I mean it was all so realistic wasn't it a town where everone gets along with each other and evryone who lives there is beautiful or handsome..well except Mr Cunningham anyway!!There was so many blondes and dark handsome blokes that it was enough to make anyone turn the channel over!!But now those days have gone!!
The storylines are now realistic and tackle real life issues.I should have thought that channel 4 and the producers of Hollyoaks should have won all the soap awards for having the bravery to run such a daring storyline as Luke's (male) rape.I am sure it must have been the only channel to come up with the idea of male rape let alone brave enough to run it and pull it off!
They have really pulled all the stops out at making this soap go for gold.True still some of the cast are still a bit ott to be all living in the same street but it has really pulled itself together.
I wonder if thats why they got rid of the original cast??They all seemed to go so close together!!Of course with the exception of Lewis who really went out with a bang!Again another winning storyline from channel 4!!
As you may tell i am now a hollyoaker who tries my hardest to watch it whenever it's on..although i normally watch the omnibus on T4 Sunday while curled up in bed with a cup of tea!!
And the more i watch the more the storylines get better and the more i get hooked.Now i won't hear a bad word about it!!
So everyone snuggle up and give it a try..you might just like it!!
Well done Channel 4 for creating the first ever decent soap!!!
