Advantages: Good entertainment, inspirational ideas

Disadvantages: Series was too short!

As DIY is one of my interests, I usually watch Home Front when I can - in fact I watch as many of the home and garden design shows as possible - even though I don't have a garden! When it was announced that Home Front would be producing a series which 'madeover' the interior and garden of a home each week, I asnticipated it eagerly.

The basic idea of the show is that garden designer Diarmuid Gavin, and interior designer Laurence Llewellyn Bowen had 2-3 weeks to perform a makeover on a home. The occupiers were given their say at the beginning of each project, and made up collages showing the looks they loved and hated, to give Laurence and Diarmuid sufficient information.

Obviously, the work on each home was condensed into an hour long programme, but I enjoyed the series immensely. Both Laurence and Diarmuid are very creative and imaginative, and i was able to draw lots of inspiration from their ideas. I can't wait for the second series!
