Advantages: Good comedy performances, good situation comedy and physical comedy

Disadvantages: None really to speak of but not quite as funny as it could have been

Home Improvement is an American comedy which stars Tim Allen as the star of a cable show called Tool Time in which he and his assistant Al teach people about tools, show them things to make and create a huge variety of products for the true man whilst managing to destroy everything he tries to build and pretty much anything he touches. Tim "the toolman" Taylor is a huge hit with the audience on Tool Time and his grunting (almost like a form of male bonding) is a huge success that becomes his punch line. Outside of Tool Time Tim spends his time with his wife Jill and his three sons (Mark, Randy and Brad) trying his hardest to raise his boys to be great young men and as part of this he spends time with them on projects like building his own hotrod. When Tim struggles, needs guidance or advise his neighbour behind the fence called Wilson is always there to offer him words of wisdom (normally over Tim's head but in a way Tim manages to make this even more charming as he manages to make his own way of understanding this and averting more troubles).

Summary: A good American comedy with strong family values
