Advantages: hilarious and you can learn some DIY, if you're lucky!

Disadvantages: the series has ended in the states

Home Improvement is such a hilarious comedy sitcom! I have been following the show for quite some time now, ever since the Taylor boys were still small.

If you dont already know, the show centres around the Taylor family and the infamous DIY show called Tool Time. Tim Allen is the star and dad in the show who is always accident prone, getting quotes wrong and has a very distinctive but lovable grunt! His wife Jill is most of the time, the sensible one, most of the time. Their sons Brad, Randy and Mark are equally adorable and each have quirks of their own. Add to that Tim's ever ready assistant Al, Heidi the sexy Tool Time girl and Wilson is the Taylor's semi-mysterious and weird neighbour to whom they always pour their hearts out, the show always offers something different.

The storylines include something as trivial as Tim's obsession with his hot rods to one of the more serious ones for example, where Randy was feared to have cancer. It tackles the growing pains associated with daily life (and not only for the children!). One of the episodes that I really enjoyed was when Tim ended up having to babysit his brother's twin daughter and in the process fell in love with the idea of having a daughter of his own. In one scene, Tim plays around with a Buzz Lightyear doll! Really funny!

However, the show has now ended in the states. The last episode in the last series saw the Taylor's in a dilemma of having to move and sell their house. I havent seen it but hope to soon! The show is one of the longest running sitcoms and I think has never become stale over the years..
