I recently wrote an opinion on Home Improvement, but, silly me, stuck it in the wrong place. So here we go again!

Home Improvement is commic genius. I can't get enough of it.It's on Disney Channel every night. 2 episodes back to back from 10pm.

The show's star is Tim Allen (the voice of Buzz Lightyear, star of 'The Sants Clause), and was based originally on his stand up comedy routine.

Tim stars as Tim 'the tool man' Taylor, a zany host of an American cable DIY show.

He lives with his long suffering wife, Jill and their 3 sons - Brad, Randy & Mark.

Tim is a DIY nightmare. His ethos in life is 'MORE POWER', believing that every engine should be super charged, even if it is just the one that powers the family blender.

He botches every job he goes near, and I've lost count of the number of times he's almost killed himself. Examples include falling from his roof while installing a satelite dish, electrocuting himself while super-charging the dish washer and turning a ride on mower into a mean looking street fighter quad-bike, which turned out to only go in one direction - backwards, very quickly.

On his show, Tool Time, he is 'assisted' by Al Borelan. Al is the real DIY expert, but don't tell that to Tim! For every wacky idea Tim comes up with on the show, Al calmly replies 'I don't think so Tim!'.

Tool Time has a cult following, mainly made up of people who love to watch Tim screw up and do his primeval grunt (hughhhhh?).

The Taylor family have a next door neighbour called Wilson Wilson. For some reason, we are never allowed to see his whole face. It is usually obscured by the garden fence, but other methods have been used, including a fish, flowers, his hand and even a giant duck!

I'm not sure why the maker's decided to show Wilson in this way, but it is hilarious waiting to see which new ways of hiding his
face will be thought up.

Wilson is full of wise, quote riddled advice. He is the person Tim goes to for advice whenever he has messed up and is in the dog-house (which is every episode!). Heving been dispatched with a pearl of wisdom, Tim then goes back to his family to mis-quote Wilson, and generally soung stupid!

Home Improvement is addictive. I am so glad that I have children to justify a subscription to the Disney Channel!

If you haven't seen it before, check it out. It is currently running again from series 1, so it's an ideal time to start watching.
